This sequel is even more emotional and spicy than the first. If you enjoyed the 1st you'll love this. The journey of healing is heartwarming and when they finally get together you cant help but smile and kick your legs. Cant wait for book 3.

After being captivated by the first book in the “Intricate Ties” series, I was really looking forward to the second one. The author’s writing style was wonderful once again, and the story quickly drew me in.
Since the second book also revolves around Darren and Miles, I recommend reading the first book first to get more background. It’s not absolutely necessary, though, because the beginning of this book recounts the events from the first book—but this time from Darren’s perspective.
I loved reading it from Darren’s point of view and diving into his inner world.
The sessions with Miles were supposed to be purely professional, but Darren has a past of his own, and it’s not at all easy for him to keep his emotions in check during the sessions with Miles—because Miles really gets under his skin.
Both feel comfortable during the sessions and grow closer emotionally. Miles is slowly growing into the role of the sub. And Darren is waging an internal battle with himself, but I could really relate to his inner conflict. I’d love to have more insight into Miles’ past, but I’m confident I’ll learn more about that as the series progresses.
I was impressed by Miles’s development and also by the absolute trust he places in Darren during their sessions.
As I mentioned earlier, I found the characters, their development, and the dynamic between them very captivating, and I’m dying to know what happens next—which is why I’m already looking forward to the next volume!

Tyler Laux’s narration of this story—which is as erotic as it is emotional—was absolutely fantastic. He has a talent for perfectly capturing the right emotions. As a listener, you immediately sense the protagonists’ emotional states. I also found his deep, rich “dom” voice for Darren phenomenal. It was an absolute pleasure to listen to him—very well done! I listened to the audiobook in one sitting.

An amazing marriage of story and performance. Laux utilizes warmth, vulnerability, and deep commanding tone to bring both characters to life with the perfect subtle nuance that serves an evocative tale of the power of love and service. The ending provided a perfectly satisfying resolution to the story arc that began in book 1, while leaving me deeply in love with the characters and hoping to follow their future journeys.

In the first book everything was from Miles' POV. In this, we hear Darren's POV and go further in their developing relationship.

The writing form is something I have not heard before. I'm used to hearing both characters' POV in the same book, so both book no. 1 and this book was difficult for me. I felt like it was missing the other person's thoughts and his being. It made me feel detached from the characters.

The narrator did a great job.

I'm giving it 4 stars because it was better than book 1 and it is not the author's fault that I do not like to writing style and that I cannot connect with the characters because of it.

I loved this second book in the intricate ties series, A.E.Lamercier has written another beautifully captivating story with high heat and deep love. Tyler's narration was on point as usual! Almost like these characters were crafted for him to narrate. Great job guys 👏🏻
