And no, this isn’t the kind of book with endless scenes of spice, but what it does have is pure psychological foreplay. The tension, the teasing, the dark deliciousness… it’s gold. And that ending? I bloody screamed.

The chemistry between the characters is immediate, though it’s the emotional push and pull that really keeps the story engaging. There’s this constant battle between resisting and surrendering, and watching those emotional walls slowly crack gave the romance its strongest moments for me.
And honestly, this is one of those books where fiction allows you to fully enjoy the chaos of morally questionable characters while knowing perfectly well real life would be a completely different conversation. That emotional danger and obsession works incredibly well within the fantasy of the story.
Then there is the Beautiful narration by Isabelle Turner & Ethan Reid added so much atmosphere and emotion to the experience.
