'This book is a must-read' Irish Independent

At approximately 3.15 a.m. on 2 August 2015, eight-year-old Sarah Corbett Lynch was lifted from her bed by a police officer and carried downstairs, shielded from the chaos that had broken out in her North Carolina home.

Hours passed before she learned that her beloved father Jason was dead. And the people who had killed him were Sarah's stepmother Molly Martens and her father Tom.

In A Time for Truth, Sarah reveals the startling truth of life behind closed doors in her family's home, controlled by Molly - the only mother she had ever known. And Sarah describes the traumatic aftermath as she and her brother Jack fought for justice for their father from the safety of their loving new home with Jason's family in Ireland.

Critic reviews

'A powerful and poignant memoir that transforms loss into a legacy of love and hope'
Sarah Corbett Lynch's writing of this honest and compelling book has no hysteria. It sets out events in forensic detail, including the damage to herself and her father's reputation
A Time for Truth is a powerful, heartbreaking and justifiably angry read from a young woman whose life has been irreparably damaged
This is an enthralling read
A gripping story of lives shattered as the result of a brutal and sadistic murder, and the slow job of rebuilding hope
[Sarah's] gut-wrenching memoir allows her to finally tell her story of trauma and survival for the first time, as well as honour her dad's memory and her family's fight for justice
Strength of the human spirit ... This book is a must-read

This is a heartbreaking story. Jason was clearly in a vulnerable place and only a pure psychotic individual would ever capitalise on the situation. If Molly had parents who were not also psychotic, they may have warned Jason that this woman is ill before any relationship developed. I am actually angry at the end of this book. Angry at the US justice system, Angry at anyone who sides with the Martens, Angry at the higher power as to why these two young children had to loose both their parents and suffer abuse like they did.

Karma will get you eventually Martens.

Sarah’s story is heartbreaking. Sarah’s delivery of her story is an amazing tribute to her dad, he would be so proud. I was a police officer for 20yrs and I interviewed many child victims. Molly Martens behaviour was destructive, abusive, erratic, unjustified and violent. Sarah’s story leads me to believe it was a pre conceived murder. The degrading behaviour the Corbett family were put through during the trial is shocking and immoral. Sarah you are an inspiration and I am so grateful to have read the truth in this shocking sequence of events. I wish you and Jack every happiness moving forward, you richly deserve it. The Lynch Family are truly amazing. Should Molly Martens ever read this book and these reviews, no high paid lawyers were navigating the story, know for sure that the truth is out.
