What a shame as the story sounded like it was going to be good but I couldn’t bear the narrator, what a waste of money I should of previewed it but I loved CW’s last books so bought without thinking.

Had to stop as the narrator was dreadful!

I have really enjoyed Chris Whitakers other novels but this was a frustrating disappointment. Scooby Doo moments of teenagers catching the baddie. Events that were a real stretch to believe. Far too many characters introduced early on in the book it got confusing. Also a disturbing relationship between a 15 year old girl and an adult man romanticised and made out to be acceptable!
The Narrator was fine when playing female characters but when she attempted to voice male characters she sounded silly and child like which made it hard to believe in the tough male characters.

I love Chris Whitaker - his raw, complex, multi layered stories. All The Wicked Girls is spectacular. The language he uses is street smart as well as sensitive and sore. Such an intellectual, peeled back narrative that develops characters you’ll never forget.

The narrator was excellent and altered her voice for each character brilliantly. The story held my attention from beginning to end - the clever subtle humour made me laugh and the tender interaction between Noah and Purv brought me to tears.
