Fabian Glanders, employed as a taster in a cat food factory, is content with his life of sex, drugs, and cat food. But when Fabian’s routine is interrupted by an assassination attempt, he becomes entangled in the machinations of his two identical brothers, one of whom (Flavian) is the CEO of a quasi-legal company that produces genetically modified sheep (honeylambs) for the sex trade. Flavian sees in Fabian a possible solution to a technical problem plaguing one of his company’s products, and it seems that the whole world is conspiring to change Fabian into a “normal” person. Or at least, a useful one. The world should have left Fabian alone.
