WrestleMania 42 Night 1 had EVERYTHING on paper… and somehow still felt like a TOTAL letdown.
Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton was supposed to deliver one of the biggest WrestleMania main events in years. They teased something HUGE… a possible Cody heel turn… a real shift… and then just completely backed off and gave us a confusing, flat ending that didn’t hit the way it should have.
Outside of that, the show had moments, but nothing that truly felt like WrestleMania level. Seth Rollins vs Gunther had its moments, but even that got overshadowed by outside interference. Drew McIntyre vs Jacob Fatu was chaotic and brutal, but felt more like a side attraction than something that elevated the show.
The women’s division had some strong spots with Liv Morgan vs Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch vs AJ Lee, but again… nothing that felt like it took over the night.
Even the six-man tag with LA Knight, The Usos, and IShowSpeed felt more like a spectacle than something meaningful.
This entire show felt like it was building to ONE big moment… and when it didn’t happen, the whole thing collapsed.
This is my full WrestleMania 42 Night 1 review… and why WWE completely dropped the ball when it mattered most.
