Aldric and his bonds have completed their second year at the Academy. More importantly, Aldric bonded twice more which put him on par with the strongest in the Empire. But as his power grows, so too do the threats against him. Unexpectedly, the first threat he faces is from his supposed tutor, Arch Mage Giles Stewart. The man's jealousy for Aldric simmered all year until it finally boiled over in a deadly confrontation. In the end Aldric was forced to end the threat, permanently.

But doing so had consequences. Aldric was injured in the final battle, nearly succumbing to the corruption spell Giles placed on him. Thanks to the Academy healers he was able to recover after a week of being unconscious. Outside of the Academy, the fragile peace that the Empire managed to maintain was now in peril after Giles' defeat. The Imperial Grand Magus is forced to return to the capital to ensure the peace as well as investigate all of Giles' lies.

Aldric intended on recuperating and relaxing with his bonds during summer break, but fate had other plans in store. A letter from Nadia's parents throws the group into turmoil. Then the unexpected happens and Aldric and his bonds are forced to deal with a new reality before they can move forward.

Follow Aldric and his bonds while they continue to learn and grow in their relationship, deal with demanding professors, and try to find the last two bonds to fulfill Aldric's full potential. All while dealing with the unintended fallout of their actions.
