From second through fifth grade, they pulled me out of class and put me in a tiny room. Maybe seven feet by eight feet. One teacher. One other student. Me.
Nobody explained it to me at eight years old. Just extra help. And leaving class for extra help meant walking out while everyone watched.
You tell yourself a story when that happens. That the other kids don't need this. That the room is proof of something broken.
What I know now is that room worked. And every platform I've built since is some version of it.
In this episode: the early intervention everyone overlooks in my story, what extra help actually costs you in terms of how you see yourself, and why the people I build for aren't knowledge problems — they're people who never got the right room.
