Unravel the confusion of an ADHD diagnosis and discover how to cultivate deeper family ties amidst the chaos.

Have you ever felt the sting of strangers judging you as a "bad parent" because of how your child acts in emotionally difficult moments?

Are you trying to strike a balance between providing structure and rules for your child, while still giving them freedom to act like other kids?

Do you feel helpless and isolated because people around you don't understand the complexities involved in raising an ADHD child?

Parenting a child with ADHD is tremendously challenging, but your child also faces weighty struggles every day. Their difficulty regulating and expressing themselves is as frustrating for them as it is stressful for you.

But there is hope! An ADHD diagnosis does not mean failure is inevitable. There are many successful people with ADHD—Michael Phelps and Solange Knowles, for example. But to help your child reach their potential, you need practical guidance and emotional support to deal with the unique challenges of being an ADHD caregiver.

This audiobook will give you that guidance and support. You’ll discover:

  • The stigma-shattering truth about what actually causes ADHD
  • Details about ADHD and its far-reaching effects on every family member
  • How to construct a plan for managing emotions so your child can develop better self-control and achieve improved behavior
  • The difference between punishment and discipline—and how to guide your child’s behavior more positively
  • Insightful ways to bridge communication gaps and have less dramatic conflicts in your home

Navigating the challenges of life with ADHD is tough, but you don’t have to face them alone. If you want to explore more possibilities for reclaiming peace in your home and for finding the understanding and encouragement you crave, then you need this audiobook!

I loved the chapter on 9 common myths of ADHD. I've heard all of them at one point or another. Even knowing they are just myths still makes it hard to get over. Myth #4: ADHD is a result of bad parenting: it still lingers, and it still hits that part of the heart that makes me think, "Did I do this to my child? Am I a bad parent?" I also loved that this book hit on the difference in symptoms between boys and girls (and, therefore, why girls aren't seen as having ADHD as often or as severe). Overall, this book is uplifting and encouraging, with lots of science (but not overwhelming).

This book is absolutely a godsend for educating and providing wonderful guidance on how to recognize and improve family members' relationships with their ADHD kids. I love how Rubye Marshal dispels the myths regarding ADHD and enforces patience and love unconditionally as she provides wonderful guidance from her experiences of being a parent with ADHD and raising her ADHD kid. From her example and methods, I have learned to stay calm and not negatively react when my kid has been overstimulated and is struggling. I also learned the importance of positive discipline to provide a safety net that they deserve so they feel secure in the world around them and teach my kid about the positive consequences of healthy deeds and coping mechanisms. Wherever your child lies on the spectrum of ADHD, this book is a must-have. Highly Recommend!!!

As a primary school educator, I witness the many complex facets of ADHD on a regular basis. There is no doubt that being well-informed has a crucial impact on how we (our children and ourselves) come to navigate this disorder. With the proper information and guidance such as found in this book, we can approach this smartly and empower our children to use ADHD to their advantage.
