I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after listening to a free ALC of this novel via Valentine PR. Beyond The Blue Horizon (Moonlit Ridge Book 4) is a romantic suspense story about a single mother on the run who found her self stuck in Moonlit Ridge for several weeks and the inexplicable pull between her and the man who rescued them from an accident and owned the motel where she was staying with her grandmother and son. For those familiar with the series, this is Theo’s book. Theo witnessed Piper’s automobile accident and came to the rescue of her family. He knew she was afraid and was determined to keep her family safe. This is an open door, first person, dual POV contemporary romantic suspense audiobook with tropes including heroine in danger, single mom, tortured hero with a dangerous past, small town, band of brothers, cinnamon roll hero, protector, touch her and die, holiday romance and Christmas romance. I enjoyed this audiobook about a feisty, single mother who had done everything she could to keep her family safe. She was finally trying to set down roots in the small town where Theo and his band of brothers lived and fulfilled their mission. I absolutely adored Piper’s two year old son, Finn, and enjoyed how the author pulled the entire story together. I am a big fan of the series with a band of brothers trope, and wish that I could be as easily accepted into a close friend group as Piper was. Narrators Teddy Hamilton and Kit Swann were enjoyable to listen to, and certainly added to my appreciation for the story. I recommend this audiobook to readers who enjoy a darker romantic suspense about a hero with a past as a member of a MC.

By book four in Moonlit Ridge, I’m fully invested in these men and their magical little town—and Theo’s story might just be my favorite yet. He’s grumpy, broody, and weighed down by a past he can’t escape🥺… until Piper shows up stranded in a blizzard with little Finn and her sharp-tongued grandma, Nelly. Suddenly, this closed-off man is offering them shelter in The Sanctuary—that becomes so much more than just a safe place to stay.😍

I adored the way Theo fell first (and hard) even though he fought it every step. Piper’s strength, sass, and vulnerability made her the perfect match for him. Between the danger creeping in, the undeniable chemistry, and the band-of-brothers bond that always shines in this series, I couldn’t stop listening.

Kit Swann and Teddy Hamilton absolutely nailed the narration—every moment of angst, heat, and tenderness pulled me in deeper. Another unforgettable trip to Moonlit Ridge, and now I’m counting the days for Cash’s story.

Narrated by Kit Swann and Teddy Hamilton, this dual performance had incredible highs and a few challenging moments. Teddy Hamilton was flawless as always - his delivery of Theo’s emotions and intensity was chef’s kiss. Kit Swann brought Piper to life with genuine feeling, though at times her anxious tone felt a bit overwhelming and pulled me out of the story. That said, her portrayal of little Finn was one of the most realistic child voices I’ve ever heard in an audiobook.

Beyond the Blue Horizon was heartfelt, healing and completely addictive - a must listen (or read) for fans of deep, redemptive love stories.

Every book in this series after I finish the story, I’m like this one is my favorite, lol. And now after reading Piper and Theo’s story, I’m again this one is my favorite…

Piper, her son Finn, and her grandmother Nelly was stranded on the side of the road in a snowstorm, when Theo came across them. And as her awesome heroes, he can’t just drive past and stopped to help them out.

These two immediately were attracted to each other, even though Piper was denying it from the get-go… Why? Her life did not have space for anything Theo, danger wasn’t far behind for them.
But Theo, he knew he wanted Pipes (love when he called her that) and he also knew from experience that something was going on with her.

I totally fell head over heels for this couple’s story. Theo was amazing with them. In his ‘job’ you knew that he was careful with Piper. Piper totally needed someone like Theo in her life. She needed a safe place, and she needed someone who would put her and her little family first.

The suspense just totally added to this story for him. I am a sucker for a romantic suspense story, and this one had me on the edge of my seat. You knew something was going to happen and as you read/listened it just kept adding to the story, wanting me to find out what happened in Piper’s life. The plot twist totally had me. Totally amazing read/listen.

I was lucky to be able to read and listen to this story. Teddy Hamilton is always a favorite of mine. But I have to say I loved Kit Swann for this one. She made me so anxious with her narration, making you feel all the emotions Piper was going through. Loved it 😊

Everything about this story was amazing! The main characters, Piper’s son Finn was just too freaking adorable, and Grandma Nelly was freaking Awesome! If you haven’t started this series, I recommend you start ASAP! You won’t be sorry 😊 I am so ready for Cash!!!

A.L. Jackson welcomes you back to Moonlit Ridge for another amazing novel, a small-town romance with a side of mystery, suspense and lots of heart and feels. Each book in the series features a different member of a tight-knit group of friends who work together, their stories stand on their own, but characters appear in each other’s books, and knowing their backstory adds depth, plus seeing them again is like seeing an old friend. You will also get the most out of the incredible world-building when you enjoy the books in the order written. That said, everything you need to know is in the descriptive details, and you will never feel lost or like something is missing if you jump into the series midway. This fourth book in the series is Theo Mallin’ and Piper Whittman’s story, Theo, owner of the Sanctuary Motel and a member of a morally grey secret society that gets things done for the good and the innocent, doing whatever it takes to keep them protected. Piper, her son Finn and her grandmother, Nellie, have been on the run, and their next stop, picked off the map, is Moonlit Ridge, but their car hits black ice and they land in a ditch just before reaching their destination. Theo was checking things around his property when he came upon them, becoming their savior, though Piper was reluctant to accept his help and fought him on everything he gave. Theo’s protective side kicks in, and he senses something wasn’t right with them, that they could be in trouble, though he did not push it. With their wrecked car needing repairs, they had no choice but to stay in Moonlit Ridge, at least for a few weeks. Nellie tired of running, wanted to stay longer, and Finn needed some normalcy, so they were staying for now, something Theo wanted, though not sure why. Theo claims to have no heart, and did not know how to love, but that man had the biggest heart, he just did not know it yet. This story had me hooked from the very start, and it was great watching Piper and Theo get to know each other, see their relationship grow into something so much more. Both these characters have past demons, and through flashbacks into their past we learn what they are. A.L. Jackson created a masterpiece of a story, a story with multiple layers, and watching everything unfold and fall into place was incredible. This book blew me away, an entertaining story with non-stop drama and a perfect balance of angst, mystery, thrilling suspense, a twist you never see coming, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. It was great to see the characters from earlier books and how accepting they were of Piper into their fold. A.L. Jackson, thank you for another brilliant story and emotional roller coaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Kit Swann and Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job voicing these characters and delivering a perfect portrayal and were believable in every role. Swann nailed it as Piper, embodying her personality completely, from her vulnerabilities to her fierceness and all in between. She was fantastic performing the roles of the side and secondary characters, Nellie and Finn included, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who was who. Hamilton was just as amazing as Theo, showcasing his personality and demeanor perfectly and was swoon-worthy in the role. Their pacing and tone were ideal for the story, and they conveyed all the characters’ emotions in their performance, making you feel each one. They are entertaining storytellers, and their enthralling performance rivets you to the story.
