  • The first doctor-written guide to becoming a dad
  • Combines the medical knowledge of a health-care professional with real-life experience
  • Step-by-step - from conception to caring for your newborn baby
  • Honest, humorous and engaging, this book answers the questions you've been too afraid to ask

At this crucial life moment, knowledge is power, but you probably know less than you think: what's a cervix? Can we still have sex? Why's the midwife doing that? How do I make up a bottle, and is that poo normal? Dad's role is more important than you might ever have imagined, so what can you do to help?

"I hope that as a doctor and a new dad, I will go some way towards answering those 'man questions' that never quite make it to the pub, locker room, water cooler or any other locations where men might find themselves having meaningful chats with another guy. Think of this as a man hug in what is a potentially treacherous world of terminology, hormones, social change, sleep deprivation and finally dirty nappies with tiny feet attached." (Oscar Duke)

Glad to find a non-American book due to the obvious cultural and legal differences in the system relating to pregnancy and paternity. Plus a very healthy medicine-based approach with a nice amount of anecdotal evidence. And a solid respect for motherhood. Still too many gender-biased comments - no need for tongue-in-cheek stereotypes. Otherwise brilliant.

Best fatherhood book I've found.

Me and my wife just had our first baby, only few days ago, and I was really nervous about it and overwhelmed with the amount of information that I had to learn in a short period of time. However, with the help of this very well put togheder book, i've pulled myself togheder and felt as prepared as I could to becoming a dad. I particulary enjoyed the light humour added in the right places, and all the very hellful tips and advices at different stages of the pregnancy. My only regret is that I didn't found it earlier, in tbe first stage. Highly recommend!

Simply brilliant and brilliantly simple

A good level of information without overwhelming us. Listened as couple of expectant parents and will probably listen again as due date approaches.

Useful and humrous

Oscar has a nice voice to listen to, which I what I've struggled with in many of these baby books. this one was easy to listen to, very informative and I feel I've retained some of it.

Full of useful information, very well written and narrated. After listening to this audio book I have ordered the paperback version so I can read again and hopefully take it all in before the little one arrives.

Excellent
