About this listen

I escaped the terrible queen's clutches, so I should be safe, right?

Apparently, the fates didn't get the message because while I was on my honeymoon, someone tried to kill me. Twice.

And right in the middle of it is him—Crown Prince Draven.

He's waiting until my guard is down, but is it to kiss me or kill me? Or both?

If I had known there was still more to come I would've waited for the complete collection before listening but I'm glad I found this series as it's really good the only thing I would change is I would have a male narrator as well as a female one

Great book

I got caught out as the first book was building a good story. It was only after i’d been listening to this one for a while and started getting annoyed with it that I checked the author and realised I’ve disliked other books of his for the same reason. The rambling inner monologues get boring, and maybe if there were less sex scenes (where they talk far too much) there’d be more story.
I also find the male attitude in it distasteful, I don’t know how old the book is, but to infantilise a women by constantly calling her a girl is very passé. Its very conflicted, on the one hand making her out to be a strong women/queen, but the men calling her a girl, and treating her as if she’s one. As well as the age old references to an “untouched” woman being premium. I found it pretty cringe. Some of the reading of the FMC made it worse by making her sound all wide eyed, innocence and girlish, where I would have read it in a different tone. Bit too cringe for me, I’ll finish the story in my head

Wish I hadn’t wasted a credit
