Summary

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland.

The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated. Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn't really available for rent. I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he'd let me stay until I found a new place. I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn't help giving him a piece of my mind. I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages. The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing. And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

Egomaniac is witty and a well-paced romance that blends humour, heat, and heart with a clever opposites-attract setup. The story kicks off with a fun twist—Emerie, a sweet and slightly naïve marriage counsellor, accidentally sets up her office in the wrong suite... which just so happens to belong to Drew Jagger, a jaded divorce attorney with a wicked sense of humour and zero filter. From there, the forced office-sharing arrangement turns into a slow-burn, tension-filled dynamic that’s equal parts funny and flirtatious. The ending felt slightly rushed but the emotional impact really delivered. Dual narration, both narrators did a great job.

This light flirty read was just what I needed, it hit the spot beautifully. I completely fell in love with Drew Jagger (sexy attorney at law) as he assisted Beautiful, naive, small town girl Emerie Rose as she navigated her way around the New York hustle and bustle. After being scammed by a would be realtor, Drew well and truly comes to her rescue in an uncharacteristic move as her offers her some of his office space at no cost. Drew is a divorce attorney, Emerie is a marriage counsel. They are both at opposite enters of the spectrum. They argue non stop, as such, their passion and chemistry are off the charts. Both learning and living with each other's inner most thoughts and fears, and both learning to love and trust in each other. Told in dual POV with some amazing supporting characters along with some emotional and touching scenes this book was a full five star read that I completely got lost in. Fun, sexy, easy read.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes definitely. It was great from the beginning and had substance and a good story line. It got your attention straight away and kept it. The narration was brilliant too.

I can't think of one that it is similar too really as its a refreshingly different

Which character – as performed by Joe Arden and Andi Arndt – was your favourite?

Drew and Emery were both awesome but they did the other voices great too

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

definitely

Any additional comments?

This is the best book I have read in a while and look forward to more from this author. I have to say that i am always tempted by books read by Andi Arndt as she is my favorite female narrator,
