Adam Mackay.

Local legend.

My brother’s best friend.

The world biggest movie star.

...and my major, epic, unrequited crush.

He needs a cat-sitter in sunny L.A., and I need a place to live after a bad breakup.

Perfect, right? Sure, if you possess any type of self-control.

Spoiler alert: I have none.

This arrangement has trouble written all over it, but warning signs are meant to be ignored. Kind of like clicking on the "I have read and agreed" no one actually reads before clicking.

Problem is, I never did agree to fall so quickly back into love.

Now Adam and I are all grown up. And those rules we needed to abide by in order to keep my brother happy? They’re gone.

This is a fantastic short story that despite the amount of angst, is easy to follow and enjoy. Nic and Adam have an intense connection, but are kept apart by her brother/his best friend. What will happen when they see each other again after 10 years apart?... Will they pass the unknown test given to them?...
Fantastic narration too as always by this narrator!

Fast paced reunion

I like the story but not the narration. She sounds like she’s about to cry.

Good story, likeable characters. My first read by this author. Narrating style was good and story had a good ending.

Great short story

The story had beautiful, emotional moments and classic L.J. Shen angst, but it didn’t hit me as hard as some of her other books. Savannah Peachwood’s narration was excellent, though—her performance carried the emotion and kept me engaged. A solid listen, just not my favorite from this author.
