About this listen
Life is pain. But for Jason, pain is about to become a weapon.
From Hardcore Horror Master Wrath James White comes a masterpiece of Transcendental Splatterpunk!
Born with a devastating central nervous disorder, Jason lives in a private hell. His reality is a cycle of mind-numbing agony where even the brush of air against skin feels like fire. Addicted to every narcotic known to man to ease his suffering, he is locked away in a padded room by day and a sensory deprivation bag by night.
When traditional medicine fails, hope arrives in the form of Yogi Arjunda of the Temple of Physical Enlightenment. He claims he can help Jason rise above the physical world. He claims he can end the suffering.
He was wrong.
The treatment leaves Jason changed—evolved into something darker. He has learned the secrets of sensation, and now he has a burning desire to share his enlightenment with you.
Perfect for fans of Aron Beauregard, Kristopher Triana, Nick Cutter, and Judith Sonnett, His Pain is a Splatterpunk and Extreme Horror classic that explores the darkest corners of human endurance.
©2014 Wrath James White (P)2026 Wrath James WhiteI have owned this book for so long & can’t believe it’s taken until now to finally read it!! I know it’s a top read for Wrath fans & I can totally see why!
Jason was born with acute hypersensitivity meaning he was in constant pain, brought on by even the simplest of things such as smells & sunlight.
Locked away for sensitivity depravation and hooked on every narcotic throughout his life, until his tolerance built up so much that narcotics didn’t even work the same way.
His parents were heartbroken. All they wanted was to love him & him love back, for his mother to be able to hug him & speak to him without it hurting him. Seeing an advertisement for the Yogi, a master of pain they decide to give it one last try in hope they will cure Jason.
But as the Yogi shows Jason what real pain is & how pain can be pleasurable, Jason soon wants others to feel how painful his life really was, to experience what he went through for those 17 miserable years.
It’s a whole new life for Jason & he’s struggling to adapt to these feelings like a “normal” person 🫣
Poor Jason! I couldn’t imagine a life like his! I also felt for his mother, she just wanted to show him he’s loved regardless to his condition & her final “act” although revolting was done purely for him!
I love Wrath so much! He has this special talent of pulling you deep into each one of his books, you feel the pain & you get taught the underlying lessons within each read!
Another brilliant read from Wrath! Do check the triggers with this one, well with all of his obvs 🤣
