The book really is one very long rant about class and privilege from a misanthropic woman who was disowned by her wealthy two dimensional father and vows revenge on his whole family who are all also two dimensional or barely that. It became a challenge to finish in the end, not because of the performances though.

An overcooked rant about class with murder

A wild look into the mind of a killer, this was great fun to listen to, I binged in a week or so.

Really enjoyed this book!

Great narration, very nifty twist. I can definitely see this as a series on Netflix.

Loved it

Bella Mackie’s writing is superb but the narrator makes it sound flat. She sounds like she’s just reading aloud rather than employing any particular skill to the voice. I imagine Grace having a more feminine and slightly more refined voice despite her upbringing. This narrator would be fine on another book just not this one

Not the best narrator for this brilliant story

The blurb drew me in with a promise of an anti hero, a character of murky morals who was willing to do what she needed to attain what she wanted, the writing was a bit too rambly and tedious at times.
Overdetailed descriptions of scenarios, although designed to give the reader/listener an insight into the mind of the protaganist served only to lengthen the story unnecessarily.

*Spoiler*

The ending... what a disappointment. When after all the meandering and the hard work you put in to get from one kill to the next and get past the over-long side stories to get an understanding of the character all you want in the end is for your protagonist to win. Someone who has been working so hard all her life, someone who has put everything on hold for the finale. And yet what does she get? A stuffy posh boy comes in at the end, thinks his miniscule problems are bigger than anyone elses and steals what was our protagonists right and doesn't even share a sliver of what he has taken from her. I hope there is a sequel in which she kills him and retires happily I honestly do.

Disappointing end to an interesting begining
