Summary

From Richard Lyntton, author of North Korea Deception, comes a gripping international thriller inspired in part by real events from the Bosnian War.

London. Paris. Vienna. Split. Sarajevo. The Hague.

As war tears apart the former Yugoslavia, British Army captain and UN Military Observer Jack Steele is sent into the heart of a conflict few outsiders truly understand.

Officially, Steele’s mission is peacekeeping.

Unofficially, he is walking straight into a deadly conspiracy involving Western intelligence services, political betrayal, and a covert assassination plot that could ignite a catastrophic new European war.

Steele survived the First Gulf War as a British tank commander. But Bosnia is different.

Here, allies cannot be trusted. Truth is a weapon. And every faction has blood on its hands.

As Steele searches for the truth behind the mysterious Sarajevo Protocol, he finds himself hunted by forces determined to silence him before he exposes the conspiracy.

Because some secrets are worth killing for.

Inspired by real geopolitical events and the brutal realities of the Bosnian conflict, Hyde Park Deception is a high-stakes espionage thriller of war, deception, betrayal, and impossible choices.

For readers of Robert Ludlum, John le Carré, Frederick Forsyth, Tom Clancy, and Vince Flynn.

Wow, this book is even better than North Korea Deception (the first in the trilogy). Drawing from Richard’s own experiences as a UN peacekeeper this book is a real page turner wandering through ethnic hostilities and various western agencies. Army life and the ins and outs around that war just feel so real. I recommend it!!

A fantastic thriller set in the real war in Bosnia

Richard Lyntton is clearly extremely knowledgable on the region and complex nature of the conflict covered in this book. It's packed with detail, but also a fast paced good story there too, so overall a really good listen.
The performance is also very engaging, which is a great help as you do have to concentrate to keep up with the detail and all the characters.
A really good listen, I would definitely recommend.

Complex story and great depth of the conflict

This is a complicated book with many moving parts. The author has obviously had military connections and insight into the split of the former Yugoslavia to make this a truly believable fast paced book of espionage and war.

I had to concentrate but was worth it
