I really enjoyed the book. It was very "Jodi Picoult" but, being from the Highlands of Scotland, the attempts at the Scottish accents were a bit painful to listen to. We're not Irish and the narrator seemed to think we were. Also Gaelic is pronounced Gah-lick and not Gay-lick which is Irish.
Scotland and Ireland are 2 different countries altogether and both have a huge variety of accents but none sounded like the narrators attempts. Maybe a bit more research could have been done.

Apart from that it was a good book!

I enjoyed listening to this book. The characters were likeable & the story itself was thought provoking, as well as emotionally involving. I have always been a lover of Jodi Picoult novels, and this is no different. Well worth a read.

WELL WORTH A READ.

The story was compelling, in that, I became invested in whether the trial, central to the book would resolve in a satisfactory manner. I was rather keen that one of the other main characters didn’t get away with their misdemeanours as easily as they seemed to for so long; that irritated me quite a lot and they got some comeuppance, but maybe never really regretted their actions!! But the main frustration was probably the terrible Scottish accent used by the narrator whenever Angus was present. I was starting to wish he would play no further part in the story so so didn’t have to cringe at the attempts. However, in general, a story I found entertaining and wanted to keep listening to and that is the main point of a story after all, so I recommend it, too anyone who’s not Scottish!

I found this book a bit turgid. The love affair between Cam and Mia took up a lot of the narrative and I sided with Allie throughout although she was unconvincingly oblivious to what was going on which I thought improbable. The main thrust of the story about euthanasia was quite harrowing although the husband was quite an unsympathetic character. The Scottish side story was quite boring. I like most of Jodi Piccoult's books but this is not a favourite.

Another fantastic book by Jodi and couldn't stop listening to it and hoped and prayed at the end of everything would and Elly and Cam could ,have a baby. Please write another both where Elly and Cam have a baby but Elly was worried the baby wasn't Cam's but the cowboys, she needed to get a DNA sample from Cam without he realised what was going or Mia had Cams baby. Carry on writing as your brilliant at telling stories ......thank you ❤️
