great listen, such a fascinating life and lifestyle, brought me on an emotional ride. makes me wanna go back to ibiza and experience pikes no matter the cost. even tho it may not bee the same, I'd like to imagine what it was like back in the 70's 80's 90's when it was thriving. so glad I have downloaded audible as its perfect for them long drives 👍

I absolutely loved this book, I'm so sad that I only heard about Pike's after his death after going to Ibiza since late 90s. the book kept me wanting more and I couldn't stop listening. it's an amazing life story.

I made it three quarters of the way through before I had to give up. Not because it's a bad biography, the guy lived a hell of a life, but because after an hour or so in I could only hear it in Swiss Toni (from the Fast Show's) voice. 'Getting shipwrecked in the Bermuda Triangle is very much like making love to a beautiful woman...' 'Building a hotel from the ground up is very much like making love to a beautiful woman...' 'Making love to a beautiful woman is very much like making love to a beautiful woman...' and on and on it goes. So I've had to turn it off and listen to something else less cock, bum and tits orientated for a while. As I say, not a bad story, but I kind of ruined it for myself with the material available.
