Recently sacked from his beloved job, Edward meets Stevie, whose grandmother died in a suspicious fire. Well, nobody hurts his listeners and helping Stevie might just give him the purpose he needs.

Reinvigorated, Edward joins forces with Stevie and his old fling, Kim, only to uncover a sinister plot.

Can they get to the bottom of this mystery before it’s too late?

I loved the story but found the listen boring at times, even when slowed to 95,%. I love Jeremy but he needs to get a professional narrator for the future. Marion Keyes has narrated some of her more recent books and it just never works. if Jeremy continues to narrate his own books, I shall read hard copy in the future because the story is actually so very good.

Great story

I did enjoy the story and would probably listen to the next in the series but I really disliked the narration. Jeremy sounded like he was on the radio, speaking in short, staccato soundbites. I got used to it but nearly gave up after the first couple of chapters.
I thought Stevie was supposed to have a Glaswegian accent !!! Please leave narration to the professional narrators.

Good story, shame about the narration

I was distracted listening to this book with the author narrating it. There is a great story, with lots of different threads but Jeremy kept lapsing into an odd delivery. His Scottish accent is rubbish!

Jeremy.....leave the narration to a professional!
