The brooding hero, gypsy Jake Lovell, under whose magic hands the most difficult horse or woman becomes biddable, is driven to the top by his loathing of the darling of the show ring, Rupert Campbell-Black.

Having filched each other’s horses, and fought and fornicated their way around the capitals of Europe, the feud between the two men finally erupts with devastating consequences at the Los Angeles Olympics.

Wow, this audio book was so good! Obviously light hearted - great to listen to on the journeys to & from work.
It's classic Jilly Cooper - if you've read any of her books & liked them, you'll love this audio book - extremely well read!

Vintage Jilly Cooper!

Accents were occasionally a little questionable but overall really loved this audio book. Was a little skeptical at first, as I'm a big fan of jilly and dint want my personal version messed with, but I really enjoyed this.

Very enjoyable

I read this when I was in high school, about 17 years ago. I loved it then, and it was so wonderful to go back and listen to it again! I love the story, though sometimes a few too many one liners and quips, but otherwise just brilliant! Follows the road to the Olympics for the British show jumping team, with lots of up, downs, backstabbing and randy adventures along the way! Fingers crossed Polo will be made in to an audiobook soon - that was my favourite Jilly Cooper!!!

Wonderful!!!!

First read this book in the eighties before the invention of political correctness. Great story with memorable characters.
Listening to it now, the story still holds up amazingly well and I raced to the end. The narration was good apart from the American and Irish accents, which were shocking.
I would definitely recommend Riders, although, be warned. Those of a ‘woke’ disposition will find loads to be offended by.

A good book but too many sexual scenes!...there are loads as the book goes on. Slightly slow to get into it but as it progresses, the story line gets better and better. The narrator is also good but as I said, it would have been better if I didn't have to turn it off/down on almost every chapter whilst the kids were about!

Not bad!
