One of the best dystopian books I’ve read lately! Riveting, enraging, touching and thought stirring, I loved it, but I also take it as a warning for the future.

Firstly, the audiobook production was amazing! I’m glad I got to listen to it as it was truly well done.
Secondly, whilst it took me a bit to get into the world building, once I was in it I didn’t want to leave. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’m going to be vague, but the plot is so entertaining, and it actually becomes better and better as the story progresses.
There are mysteries, conspiracies, and evil experiments with the aim of furthering humanity’s progress and advancements, without stopping to consider the risks, but even more so, if eliminating natural variations and mutations can be really regarded as advancement in the first place.

I have to admit that I had contradicting thoughts whilst reading this book and it really made me reflect, as often, the divide is not clear cut as it seems.
Whilst the themes underlying the book are heavy and controversial, they are woven into the story very cleverly, so that the reader is thoroughly engaged whilst being given food for thought.
This is also thanks to beautifully designed characters and dialogues that frame the plot perfectly.

I can’t wait for the next author’s book, and if you want your fix of speculative fiction with a dystopian look I think you’ll love this one too!
