About this listen

From the New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a dangerously dark stalker hockey romance.

Can I outrun his merciless obsession?

I accidentally witnessed a brutal murder. I froze, pretended I saw nothing, hoping I could leave it behind. But my plan backfired, and my life spiraled downward. Now, I’m the target of cold-blooded revenge.

Jude Callahan isn’t just a hockey god—he’s a devil no one dares to cross. My existence disrupts his stardom, prestige, and possible serial killer career choice. And he’s set out to make me pay for that moment of silence.

No matter how much I run or hide, he finds me, watching from the shadows. Like a predator. I thought he’d stop at the stalking. Or even better, he’d kill me and finally end my misery. But Jude has other plans.

He says I can’t die. I have to pay for my sins. And just like that, he drags me into his depraved world, kicking and screaming.

This book is a dark romance. Please check the author's website for content warnings before listening.

This book can be listened to on its own, but for a better understanding of the world, it's recommended to listen to Beautiful Venom first.

I found other books from the author more chaotic and dramatic in a good way... Violet seemed to just get along with whatever was happening.

Preston giving Nikolai vibes from God of fury loved it

The book had such a lot going for it. I particularly liked the emphasis on healing mental wounds. Violet is proof that there is strength in mercy and forgiveness. Jude was such a great character and although his character was a stark contrast to Violet’s they both found themselves in each other.

I was hooked

I don't wanna give any spoilers but that ending had me screaming ... like I was fuming and happy at the same time. How dare you do that to me?

OMG I nearly had a heart attack

Thoroughly enjoyed this! I loved Violet and Jude’s dynamic and all the twists and turns in this story. It didn’t hit quite as hard as Beautiful Venom did for me, although I have a feeling that Preston and Marcus’ story is going to be spectacular 🤭

I did like Violet but she was something a bit too spineless and insufferable for my liking. Everyone was always having to stand up for her and save her and I know that’s sort of the point of her character cause of her past but it would have been nice to see the character development, we only really see her stand up for herself one time.

I really loved Jude’s character development in this book though. In Beautiful Venom we only see a very angry and aggressive side of him, whereas this book really shows us his soft side, where his anger stems from, and how cool-headed he can really be. Don’t get me wrong he’s still an angry little menace, but I loved getting to know him more outside of that role ✨

All in all this was a fun listen, the plot was half decent and I would definitely recommend it.

Great read, good tension and dynamics
