Drowning in the murky waters of the mafia, I’m determined to find a way out.
I have my sights set on becoming a film producer and won’t let anything or anyone stand in my way. Then my mother marries a retired Godfather, and I get the head of the Greek mafia as a stepbrother.
Nikolas Stathoulis is set on ruining my well-laid plans. His ruthless reputation has me running for the safety of my apartment.
But he’s always there. On campus. In my apartment. Expecting me to play by his rules. If only I can ignore his godlike features and stop my heart from doing cartwheels at the sight of him.
Greek God? Pretty much.
But he’s rude, demanding, and hell-bent on making my life a misery.
Two can play this game…right?
From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard comes a standalone Greek mafia romance.
This book is intended for mature listeners.

Otherwise I liked the twists of the maffia world building. Usually there’s torture and maiming in seedy abandoned factories or some such, but here you see it in broad daylight light on the sixth floor of an office building. I liked that take on things.
Good narration too but I recommend not googling your narrators. It’s strange how much it can ruin a book cos instead of the character they work so hard at portraying you see the person behind the narration. I read that someone else had done it and it ruined it for them too but I didn’t take heed. I just had to go and do it myself too. So here I am trying to warn the next guy but probably just ending up doing the same thing to some other poor soul, waking the curiosity and ruining their listening experience by dangling the bait. Don’t let it be you. 😅😅
An ok book

As the first book of The Sinners Series, it's an excellent book to have started with and right now, I'm annoyed doing this review, as if rather just get stuck into the next one 😂😂
It's a story based around the head of the Greek mafia and his soon to be step-sister. It's also about the love that might blossom, should she ever get over her anxieties and if he can stop threatening her at each meeting!!
Tess also has issues with severe anxiety, due to her most formative years being abused. Due to this abuse she suffers with body dysmorphia and a terror of confrontation!!
Nikolas is the head of the family and also the head of the mafia. At his first meeting with Tess, two weeks before their parents are to marry, he comes in covered in blood. This instantly puts Tess on edge!!
Because of this, when they are finally introduced to each other, although Nikolas is cleaned and wearing a clean shirt, Tess refuses to shake his hand. This of course has Nikolas threatening her about the disrespect she has just shown him!!
So begins their relationship filled with animosity, which only gets worse, the more they see each other. Right until it finally comes to a head!! Can they ever work through this?? Well to know you've got to read the book 😋😋
Through all of that, they have a war brewing with the Sicilian mafia, as if they don't have enough going on. And then Nikolas arranges the fact that Tess is now to marry on the coming Saturday to his cousin.
I mean, just what does he thinks is going to happen?? Men huh?? 🤦🤦
On Audible narrating for Tess is Kelsey Navarro and for Nikolas is James Anderson Foster. Neither I've come across before and they do an excellent job.
They bring all the characters to life, giving them an endearing quality....yep even Nikolas.
As much as Nikolas is a jerk at times, when it comes down to it, he has a good heart and James manages to bring that to the forefront.
Anyway I recommend book and audio without any doubt and trust me it will be worth your while. So don't waste time and enjoy 😇😇
