Lieutenant Connor Morgan of SFPD’s SWAT division wasn’t looking for love. Especially not in a man. Whoever killed his father seems intent on Forest joining him in the afterlife. As the killer moves closer to achieving his goal, Forest tangles with Connor Morgan and is left wondering what he’ll lose first - his life or his heart.

This is the third book in the 'Sinners Gin' series and I cannot recommend it highly enough! Rhys is a brilliant storyteller who has become my favourite author. If you have not read or listened to any books by Rhys, you don't know what you are missing!Love Comes Calling

Would you consider the audio edition of Tequila Mockingbird to be better than the print version?
I have purchased both, but not actually gotten around to the reading the text versions in full yet. I don't think you can honestly compare the two on equal ground - the text version is my own interpretation and the audio, inevitably, is someone else's. I've enjoyed both equally, but for different reasons.What did you like best about this story?
The characters, the chance to revisit other stories and plot lines and the balance between essential detail and filler in the narrative. The author does a great job of balancing everything.What does Tristan James bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I am so sorry but the DEPLORABLE Oirish accents employed over the entire series. I come from an Irish family and, no, just no. Hysterically he even manages to use different regional accents and inflections for members of the same family (the vast majority of which are American natives and not of Irish birth) when he switches characters and sometimes get them confused. This irritated me in the first book, but once I got over myself and relaxed into the performance then it became nothing more than a fond amusement over the course of time. At least with a text version I can just ignore badly written or constructed accents on the page, the audio version made me work for it.Still worth it though!

Despite the narrator's Irish accents this series of books is a great listen and well worth your credits. He's entertaining, engaging and generally a joy to listen to. He does a great job of switching between characters and building the tension for the action scenes. Nothing ever feels rushed and you get swept long by the story brilliantly. The stories themselves are a little OTT in terms of characterisations (The matriach of the family for instance) but I have them in my head as a gay version of the MacGregor family beloved of Nora Roberts readers so forgave the OTT in this regard. The author is very talented and spins a good tale and if you want good old fashioned escapism and entertainment then I can't recommend this series enough. Text or audio you won't be disappointed!Luck of the Oirish....

I woukd recommend this for a bit of murder-mystery, romance & family solidarity with humour as well as the serious stuff. For the full experience, listen to them in order although it's not strictly necessary.
