Bloomsbury presents The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas, read by Elizabeth Evans.

‘One of the best fantasy book series of the past decade’ TIME

The twist of a knife. The birth of a legend.

Step into the world of the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas with this collection of prequel novellas.

Celaena Sardothien is her kingdom’s most feared assassin. Though she works for the powerful Assassin’s Guild and its scheming master, Arobynn Hamel, she yields to no one and trusts only her fellow killer-for-hire, Sam. But when Arobynn dispatches her on missions that take her from remote islands to hostile deserts, Celaena finds herself acting independently of his wishes and questioning her own allegiance.

If she hopes to escape Arobynn’s clutches, Celaena will have to put her faith in her wits and her blade ... knowing that if she fails, she’ll lose not just a chance at freedom but her life.

A prequel to the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass, this collection of five novellas explores the history of this cunning assassin and her enthralling — and deadly — world.

The Assassin and the Pirate Lord
The Assassin and the Healer

Decided to start reading the Throne of Glass series and wanted to read Assassin's Blade first to get all the background before starting the first book. I love Elizabeth Evans, loved how she narrated the Crescent City book so I was excited about this one. I planned to read the rest of the books and wanted to listen to this one, however I think I might do both since the E.E. is amazing at voicing out all the characters.

Really enjoyed this... been looking forward to this book series as I read ACOTAR 1st... and really enjoyed the style of writing which had been engrossed in every word.

Sarah J Mass has a great writing style, the scene setting isn't too extensive to bore you and yet vital to building the story and expressing the mood, suspense or urgency of the scene.

I recommend you try it out, the books are not painfully long they have the right amount of content and I find always leaving me excited for the next chapter!

Great start to series!
