About this listen

A CHILLING NORFOLK BROADS CRIME THRILLER!

A haunted crypt, a bullied boy, and an artist’s will: a benevolent gesture or a satanic curse?

When the body of a local artist is found mutilated inside a five-pointed star, DCI Tanner’s attention turns to the disciples of a Satanic cult. But when the man's body is discovered to be the cult’s leader, Tanner's interest is soon drawn to his will, and the five beneficiaries who’ve been named in it.

Set within the mysterious beauty of the Norfolk Broads, this fast-paced British detective series is a dark cozy Norfolk murder mystery with a slice of humour and a touch of romance, one that will have you guessing until the very end, when the last shocking twist is finally revealed.

The Bastwick Testament is a totally addictive gripping crime thriller, the twelth in a chilling series of serial killer books, ones which will rapidly convert followers of L J Ross, Faith Martin, Joy Ellis, Damien Boyd, J M Dalgliesh, and Elly Griffiths into David Blake devotees.

Characterisation and plot were unpredictable and fairly realistic. I want to continue to read subsequent Tanner exploits.

Pursuit of the yacht in the rescue boat.

I was disappointed to find that this book was not being narrated by Jonathan Keeble... he portrayed the characters well and brought them off the page so well. whilst I still enjoyed the listen, and Peter Wicks is fabulous to listen to, I didn't feel any continuity with the key players. however I am sure that any future Tanner books narrated by Peter will fain that feeling

another great dci tanner novel

I actually really like the new narrator. JK is excellent over all, but the way he voices children is … off-putting.

However, the Tanner stories keep getting worse with each book. DCI Tanner seems to get sloppier, more narrow-minded and over all a worse detective each book. I don’t enjoy the sexism and the way Christine is written. I think I am done with the series tbh.

Love the narration, but getting fed up with Tanner

The last two D I Tanner books have been rather disappointing. The stories and characters are less believable and the change of narrator for this book has just completely ruined it in my opinion. Tanner comes over as rather weird his dry humour just isn't there anymore. Shame as I enjoyed the previous books but doubt I will buy anymore, if there are to be anymore that is.

Not as good as earlier books
