Great Selection

If you are a classic novel lover this is the best compilation coming after Jane Austin.
I would single out Jane Eyre, The Proffesor and Wuthering Heights.
The only thing I would improve is more clear and concise book division between chapters.

Classic!

I enjoyed everything about this collection. It was a change to have a listen that included several stories by one talented family. The dramatic element was well done and enhanced the classic tales.

Loved it!

So enjoyable. I loved every one of these adaptations. Wonderful novels that really come to life in refreshingly new ways. The interview at the end was an excellent bonus. Highly recommended.

Wonderful adaptations

On the whole these were good adaptations and stayed fairly faithful to the books. The spirit and style of the Bronte sisters was still there. Thankfully they were not changed out of recognition like TV period dramas so often are these days!!

It would have been better if they had been grouped with each authors works together and in the order they wrote them so that one could appreciate their development and individual writing styles.
Named chapter headings would make navigating the different books easier.

Also the fact they were short radio episodes meant that the story line was quite bumpy as you were constantly getting a resume and music introductions. It would be a much better listen if these had been edited out so the story flowed smoothly.

I did struggle to hear everything when either the actors dropped their voices or the music/sound effects were too much. This is often a serious barrier to enjoying radio drama.
