Would not have believed that John Grisham could be so boring. Don’t bring Mitch back

I’m afraid I expect more from legal books now but it was enjoyable enough. I just didn’t go anywhere

Lack of any twists and turns

I was so excited to read a new book following on from the firm which I enjoyed “immensely”sadly Not what you expect from John Grisham.

It wasn't so many years ago that a new John Grisham book was an event worth waiting for. Sadly, I get the feel things have changed. For example, stories seem to wander; one expects a legal thriller and finish going in an unexpected direction.

[Spoilers] This story develops as a kidnapping case. It was OK, lots of talent still in engaging story writing. The story had a predictable conclusion. It was hard to invest in the characters. The research for the book seems thorough. Another reviewer criticized the narrator; agreed, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.
