This was everything I wanted and more. I had a strong suspicion toward the end, and I was right!

This is an exceptionally well-written book. Sam Holland’s writing carries an unnerving yet satisfying intensity that very few authors can pull off (with the exception of Chris Carter), especially with such dark and complex subject matter. Every chapter pulls you in deeper, steadily building the suspense without ever losing the emotional core of the story. I genuinely don’t know how she does it! Her ability to keep you hanging on every word is unmatched!!

The characters and their stories stay with you long after you’ve finished the book. If you love crime fiction that’s dark, twisted, and impossible to put down (nightmares guaranteed!), then this book (and Sam Holland’s work in general) is for you!

Shout out to Sarah Lambie for her brilliant narration! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After listening to The Echo Man series, I was excited to listen to the latest release from Sam Holland. Unfortunately, Killer in Room Five is nowhere near as good as the previous books. I gave up about a third of the way though. The characters were not believable, or likeable, and the plot didn’t grab me in the first few chapters. The narration was ok, however, I think it’s better to use a new narrator if the characters are different in a new book, as I always associate the same ‘voices’ with previous characters. The same narrator only really works when continuity is required. The male Scottish accent was poor, as were all the male characters. All in all, a disappointment and a waste of a credit.

Disappointed
