Human endurance but mainly female just so sad these woman and all woman during that time were not recognised and celebrated , unfortunately far too often judged by friend and foe alike !

Absolutely incredible story which also makes a poignant note of how woman have been grossly overlooked or ignored in terms of their many roles and contributions in the war. The narration is regularly a bit hammy and am-dram, which is surprising, considering the exceptional talent of Juliet Stevenson.

Horrifying, heartbreaking, moving and sometimes even funny, utterly fascinating true story of 9 extremely courageous and patriotic women who banded together to survive and escape a Nazi work camp. Wonderfully read, as usual, by Juliet Stevenson.
