I loved the film I loved the book the ending is open too I wish there was a second book

Narrator in a hurry, little effort to give the characters different voices what a pity

This is the best story ever written so why did the narrator rush through it?

I had seen the film before I read this and that may have spoiled me. The film is so incredibly faithful that I would say there's almost no point reading this if you've seen it. There is slightly more description and a bit more of an epilogue but that's about it.

I think the film actually handles the silliness better. The story seems more childish on paper. I liked the characters, the setting etc. but I didn't feel invested in the story with everything being so whimsical. I liked the narration though, that was good.
