Bloomsbury presents The Revenge Club written and read by Kathy Lette.

'Fast moving and frothing with the fun kind of female fury' JO BRAND

WHEN THE ODDS ARE AGAINST YOU, IT'S TIME TO GET EVEN.

Matilda, Jo, Penny and Cressy are all women at the top of their game; so imagine their surprise when they start to be personally overlooked and professionally pushed aside by less-qualified men.

Only they’re not going down without a fight.

Society might think the women have passed their amuse-by dates but the Revenge Club have other plans.

After all, why go to bed angry when you could stay up and plot diabolical retribution? Let the games begin...

Critic reviews

Fast moving and frothing with the fun kind of female fury (Jo Brand)
Like champagne with a pie chaser. Sparkling and surprisingly satisfying (Penny Smith)
As always, she's witty and gritty and surprises at every turn. "Nine to Five" meets the "First Wives Club" in this gripping story of revenge (Ruby Wax)
Kathy Lette's razzle-dazzle charm, humour and versatility sometimes obscure the seriously impressive achievement of this girl from the Shire: For fifty years now, she has articulated - with outrageous candour and an infallibly observant eye - the best and worst bits of being female. The Revenge Club is erotic fan fiction for the peri-menopausal. But amid all the hilarity and blood-Letteing (see what I did there?) there beats a solid reminder that female friendships are the love affairs that never dim (Annabel Crabb)
Sometimes dark, often rude and always sparkling. A total tonic (Adele Parks, Platinum)
Written in Lette’s trademark blend of pace, pun and pizzazz
A no-holds-barred account of just how unfairly the chips are stacked against older women
A poolside read that will have you chuckling into your cocktails... full of wit and slapstick moments, the story also has a moving twist that reinforces the serious subtext - sometimes women just have to come together and give the patriarchy a kick in the proverbial. Bravo!
A wicked sense of fun at work... the prose is blaring
Escapist fun... Kathy Lette diehards will recognise her trademark acerbic humour and fabulously poisonous put downs, of which there are plenty
Sink into a whoopie cushion as the queen of quip lit whisks you along in search of the shortest distance between two puns
High feminism, high camp, and high theatrics. There are hints of Sex And The City, there are hints of First Wives Club, but Lette runs with her outlandish plotline, providing laughs, gasps and, of course, plenty of revenge
If you Iove Jane FaIIon and Dawn O’Porter, you’ll! love this wickedly witty revenge romp, too!
A slicing, piercing, irreverently funny story of revenge
Packed full of wit, with plenty of joyous slapstick moments
A call for a #MeToo movement for older women and an appreciation of the value of female friendship
The resulting romp is not so much chick-lit, more like no-longer-spring-chickens-lit - if the theme song from Nine to Five has just popped into your head, you can sing it, sister
A ferociously funny and pointed story of sexism and revenge, join four women as they attempt to turn the tables on the men who destroyed their lives

I really disliked the reader. The attempts at accents were dreadful. Applaud the message, found the story a bit daft and far fetched. Relentless alliteration was too much too!! I really wanted to like but I really didn’t felt very frustrated and couldn’t wait for it to end.

It became tedious
