About this listen

Small towns can have big secrets, and this secret may have changed the world forever... When the people of Waxahachie, Texas wake to find themselves cut off from the rest of the world and surrounded by an unfamiliar and dangerous wilderness, they must work together to survive and unravel the cause of the mysterious 'seam'.

Ellis County, Texas, is turned on its head when everyone within a twenty-mile radius wakes up in a world they don't recognize - a world populated by animals long since extinct. It's up to a tired sheriff and a former Army Ranger to set aside their differences, solve the mystery, and keep the people of Ellis County and Waxahachie safe.

'Texas Accelerated' is a fun, sci-fi/post-apocalyptic adventure set in the heart of Texas. This series seeks only to entertain and has plenty of action, laughs, and Texans fighting sabertooth tigers. What more do you want?

Good book. Worth a listen. This isn't a stand-alone story but the first part of a series. I'll look forward to reading the rest, I do enjoy this kind of apocalypse/time-shift story and I've read books recently that have similar feel to this by Nicholas Sansbury Smith, A.G. Riddle, Dennis E. Taylor and Bobby Adair etc and this book fits right in.
If you like this genre, you'll probs enjoy this.
Narration is v good too. :D

Good addition to this genre. Worth a read/listen.

Residents and passers by of Waxahachie county, Texas wake with no power, some with half their houses missing and an untaimed forest surounding them. With elements from Jericho, Under the Dome, and Outland in play this has been a strong start in the Texas Accelerated series.

The sceneriao appealed to me a lot and was very happy with how well structured the novel was and the multiple points of view depicted. It has set my imagination going wild which I always enjoy and loved how the events have unfolded so far, keeping me engaged and gripped from beginning to end.

The first of a series, I think this works well as a standalone but I've already ordered paperbacks of both this and the second book.

I was given a free copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review which has not been influenced by the party that provided it.

Great scenerio well told. Was gripped to the end

A really enjoyable listen and an intriguing story which immerses the listener into the timeline with ease. Character development is good, if a little long winded at times, and we start to feel for the people involved as time goes on. I will look forward to future books in the series. Narrator’s voices for different characters a little off putting at times but speed and pronunciation were good.

A good listen and start of the series

Loved the story and well developed characters. Curious to see where the story goes. Not sure about the pronunciation of wolves but maybe that's a Texas thing.

Texas and megafauna what's not to like

I usually stay away from Audible books as I prefer to read them myself with my own imagination coming up with the voices. But Zach did an excellent job voicing the characters, the gruff Texas voice for the older characters was perfect and really added character to the already rich characters. The story itself has me hooked and I am yet again seeing how good Tyler Lenz is at creating characters that feel very real and have you wanting them to succeed in whatever they are doing. Even Ben's dad who is viewed as a villain is hard not to root for. I love how the characters interact with one another and how the conversation just seems to naturally flow between them all. my personal favourite part of this book was how each chapter ended, it always had some stone cold one liner that had me going "damn." and then the next chapter would start. Was great to listen to this story!

Excellent voice acting and rich story
