Summary

In the tenth book of this hit fantasy series, a warrior will learn, no matter how many battles he wins, there's one inevitable truth: nobody's invincible.

Victor Sandoval—aka Lord Victor, Duke of Iron Mountain—has continued to expand his legendary status fighting for the kingdom of Gloria in the world of Rhun, where savage duels between champions are the ultimate deciders of fate. But his trials in the arena pale in comparison to what comes next.

As mightily as Victor employs his battle axe, he knows he has much to learn. Under the loving tutelage of the dragon woman Tes, his arcane power is climbing to new heights. But enemies are taking note. Even as the enigmatic veil walkers watch his duels with keen interest, whispers of betrayal stir among them—traitors willing to subvert Ruhn's ancient rule of law. Will Victor's strength and resolve be enough to withstand their schemes, or will his rising legend make him the target of forces that refuse to be bound by honor?

Meanwhile, an overconfident Victor faces off against an opponent who proves to be more than a match. Specifically, a warrior sent to end him once and for all, wielding a weapon beyond darkness known as the Curse of the Void. Its only purpose: eat Victor alive....

steady progression and exciting combats. some of the interactions annoyed me a bit, when it seemed like they were greedy for what the mc could offer, rather than thankful and grateful for what he has done and intents to do

still amazing

I’ve been following Victor’s journey for a long time, but Void Forge is where the power scaling finally gets wild. If you’ve been waiting for the momentum to turn into an absolute inferno, this is the book.

Watching Victor’s power ramp up in this one was incredibly satisfying. There’s a moment where he’s forced to stand his ground against around 40 Steel Seekers at once. Seeing a group that large and powerful go up against him shows just how much the stakes have changed.
He’s also still doing the physical grind, consuming crazy treasures that are so potent he actually needs help from higher beings to change the way his core works, just to keep his body from falling apart under the pressure. It makes the power-ups feel dangerous and earned.

Then there’s the Dragon. I won’t give anything away, but the encounter is a massive turning point. The influx of power surrounding that moment is huge, and it sets a new bar for what Victor is becoming.

Victor is finally turning into a powerhouse but he’s not at the top yet. Even with all this new strength, the world is getting more dangerous, and you can tell he's about to hit a wall that makes his previous fights look like a warm-up. He’s faster and stronger than ever, but as the challenges get harder, you have to wonder if it'll be enough.
The climb is far from over.

The beast is waking up
