it's just one long side quest. Too long and obvious storyline with no good upgrade/progress. I think Seth has given up on the story.

Book 9 felt disconnected from the main Tower storyline, Once again the MC is faffing around in his own boring little side quest this late in the series with characters we don't care about and plot holes to strip the MC of his powers/abilities. 19 Books later and it feels like this is being written by someone with no passion or ideas left. It's a Tower climbing series where the established cast of characters you know and love from the previous 19 Books! are not present until the end of the book for a couple of chapters once again. I give up on this Series.
