a great first part of a potential series. the world building is spaced, paced, and very believably done, the main character, Noah, is s lovable fish out of water, and given the place of being special without being The Special One, and powerful without being overpowered, learning and earning his skills. the women in the world are real people, not just there to fawn or be on need of Noah, and this makes you want some more slice of life scenes with them.

this was quite a good book to listen too. honestly I listen to audiables only when working to pass the time but this book had me listening to it even after I finished work until it was over. I loved all the characters and it was a steady build up for the next book. can't wait for more.
