About this listen
What if the course of history was on your shoulders?
'To do what I do - go where I go - see what I see - it's a wonderful, unique, never-to-be-taken-for-granted privilege.'
With great privilege comes great responsibility, something Max knows only too well, and as newly appointed Chief Training Officer at the St Mary's Institute of Historical Research, it's up to her to drum this guiding principle into her five new recruits.
With a training programme that includes Joan of Arc, an illegal mammoth, a duplicitous Father of History, a bombed rat, Stone Age hunters and Dick the Turd, the question everyone is asking themselves is - what could possibly go wrong?

Critic reviews
Takes readers on a carnival ride through laughter and tears with a bit of time travel thrown in for spice
A true page-turner
I've never seen time travel handled this way. I like it
[An] appealing cast of characters... [with] with plenty of humour, lots of action, and even a touch of romance
favorite book of the series!

Yet another outing for St Mary's staff.

I do find it really interesting to look at historical events in this way, I know there is 'poetic licence' used, but the stories are very entertaining and also have a lot of interesting information about events that are well researched.
I like the light hearted way that the books are written, and Zara Ramm is excellent in her narration - I only have ONE quibble, in that she pronounced WAndering as WOndering, and this always throws me momentarily. Generally though her reading is perfect in intonation and very enjoyable.
well worth a listen
