A nice story that blends strong themes like childhood violence or addictions with funny moments and images unveiling Booth experience of the music industry and rock music. Above all a book about love in all its possible meanings. Amazing performance in the audiobook, including great pieces of music.

I bought the hardback at one of the James shows in Manchester last year. Waited to read it until I could hear Tim’s narration - so glad I did. Wonderful voice and performance. Thank you Tim!

Saw the announcements that this coming on James fb page over the last week or so..the cynic in me wasn’t convinced , but I go thru a couple of books a week while working and I would've always tried this eventually. So as it was out on the day I needed a new listen I gave it a go….I was even more dubious when I noticed it was read by author, there are some very gifted authors who are bloody awful narrators…but not in this case. It’s great story of people trying to navigate their lives, their relationships with each other, with their families, their pasts and themselves all while trying to earn a living from a career utterly detrimental to being able to do any of these successfully ..told with empathy and compassion thru characters you come to care about and read brilliantly…what’s not like?? Thoroughly recommend it!
