About this listen

Movies give us countless scenarios and situations the characters have to navigate. Well, how would YOU handle these situations in you were in their place? Amber, Scott and the occasional guest tackle this very topic. We're not a review show, but there are enough opinions between us you'll get a little of that too. We mostly try to keep it lighthearted and funny. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes not so much, but it's usually entertaining nonetheless, or at least we hopeCopyright 2026 Chainsaw Enterprises Art

  • E255 - Dolly - What Would YOU Do?
    Apr 6 2026
This week on Cinema IRL, Scott and Amber are slinking into a theater they wish they’d never entered for *Dolly*, a film so aggressively unpleasant they’re convinced society is actually worse off for its existence. They’re dissecting the tactical advantages of nipple-biting, the physiological impossibility of screaming without a lower jaw, and why Scott is convinced the Tennessee woods were actually just a giant pile of cinematic broccoli. It’s a deep dive into survival instincts—or the complete lack thereof—as Scott loses all patience for characters who refuse to turn their captors into "mashy brain mush."

  • E254 - Hoppers - What Would YOU Do?
    Apr 1 2026
This week on Cinema IRL, Scott and Amber are "hopping" into the consciousness of a robotic rodent for *Hoppers*, a film that asks if you’d literally become a beaver to stop a highway project. They’re dissecting the logistics of seagull-lifted sharks, accidental butterfly regicide, and why Jon Hamm is always the go-to voice for an evil mayor with a noise-pollution fetish. It’s a deep dive into environmental activism, animal hierarchies, and Scott’s refusal to care about nature unless there’s a pun involved.

  • E253 - Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die - What Would YOU Do?
    Mar 27 2026
This week on Cinema IRL, Scott and Amber are pulling up a chair at Norm's for *Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die*, where a man from the future is on his 117th attempt to stop a nine-year-old from unleashing our AI overlords. They’re dissecting a world where teenagers are phone-shambling zombies and "Princesses" have literal allergic reactions to tech, all while Scott tries to figure out how much pocket change it takes to prove you're a time traveler. Between dodging "M virus" outbreaks and debating the ethics of cloned children with built-in ads, the duo wonders if humanity is even worth saving if the quest involves dodging a giant cat made of other cats. It’s a high-stakes, low-logic journey through a future that looks suspiciously like a very bad day in downtown Los Angeles.
