  • E75: Advocate Like Daughter
    Jul 7 2026

Back in our day, it was called standing up for yourself. Now it’s called self-advocacy—and honestly, we’re glad people are talking about it.

In this episode, we start by discussing the importance of teaching our kids to speak up for themselves, ask questions, and communicate their needs—even when it’s uncomfortable or involves adults. But the conversation quickly shifts into something much bigger.

Caley shares the frustrating reality of navigating her mom’s cancer journey and a hospitalization filled with miscommunication, delays, and mistakes. What was supposed to be a critical step in treatment nearly became a complete waste of time because information wasn’t being communicated properly between departments and providers.

This episode isn’t about criticizing healthcare workers—we have incredible respect and gratitude for the doctors, nurses, and professionals who dedicate their lives to helping others. It’s about recognizing the reality that today’s medical system is stretched thin, and sometimes the only person making sure everything stays on track is the patient or the family standing beside them.

Whether you’re advocating for your child, your parent, or yourself, this conversation is a reminder that asking questions isn’t being difficult—it’s being responsible.

Because sometimes the most important voice in the room is yours.

  • E73: Buzzed & Baffled: The Weird Origins of Everyday Phrases
    Jun 23 2026

What happens when two moms leave their husbands on the couch, pour a couple of mommy drinks, and decide the best way to spend a Friday night is by quizzing each other on the origins of random phrases? Pure chaos. 😂

In this episode, Cal and Megs attempt to uncover where some of our favorite sayings came from—and quickly discover that we’re far more confident than we are correct. From “rule of thumb” to “bite the bullet” to “cold turkey,” we take our best guesses, share a few surprising facts, and laugh our way through the ones we completely butcher.

Along the way, we realize how many strange expressions we use every day without ever stopping to think about what they actually mean or where they originated. Some stories are fascinating, some are bizarre, and some sound completely made up… but somehow turned out to be true.

This episode is lighthearted, hilarious, and proof that adulthood is weird. Because apparently, this is what passes for a wild Friday night in your 40s.

Grab your favorite mommy drink and come get baffled with us.

  • E72: Another F-ing Cancer Diagnoses...
    Jun 16 2026

Some episodes make you laugh. This one might make you cry right along with us.

In this deeply personal conversation, Cal opens up about the emotional rollercoaster of waiting for answers during her mom's cancer diagnosis. After navigating her son’s cancer journey and facing her own health challenges, finding herself back in the role of caregiver and advocate brings a complicated mix of fear, exhaustion, hope, and perspective.

We talk honestly about "the in between" — that uncomfortable space where you don’t have all the answers yet, but life keeps moving forward anyway. The waiting. The worrying. The endless what-ifs. The moments when you’re trying to be strong for everyone else while quietly processing your own emotions.

But this episode isn’t just about cancer. It’s about every difficult season we face as humans. The chapters we never would have chosen. The uncertainty we can't rush through. And the reminder that even when life feels heavy, we are capable of moving through hard things one day, one breath, and one step at a time.

If you're walking through your own "in between" season, this conversation is for you. You're not alone, and this chapter won't last forever.
