Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns...
One can be considered drunk in the natural and also considered sober in the natural. In spiritual matters, one can be sober or be filled (drunk) with the Spirit of God. It’s considered good to be sober in the natural, but in the spirit, being filled with the Spirit is what’s good.
Being filled with the Holy Spirit and enjoying His presence must be a daily experience, just like drinking water. God shows us how: by “speaking to yourselves.” In other words, I speak to me and you speak to you.
In this Year of Strange Oil, continually speak to yourself in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, which is another way of telling you to continually speak His Word. As you do, you will ever be filled and stimulated with the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Holy Spirit, I choose to remain continually filled with Your presence. As I speak Your Word daily, refresh me, strengthen me, and keep me sensitive to Your leading.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
The Holy Spirit is my Friend, and I am constantly filled by Him. His presence is my daily habitation. The cares of this world have nothing on me. Amen!
