The Washington Capitals blanked the Toronto Maple Leafs to gain ground in the Eastern Conference wild card race, while the Buffalo Sabres scored three times in the third period to secure a 5-3 comeback win over the New York Rangers and reclaim first place in the Atlantic Division.     A packed night across the NHL saw the Avalanche defeat the Blues to clinch both the Western Conference and Central Division titles, while the Blue Jackets forced overtime late before topping the Red Wings in a shootout. The Senators erupted for five third-period goals to pull away from the Lightning, and Clayton Keller scored in overtime as Utah defeated the Oilers. Joel Eriksson Ek recorded three points to lead the Wild to their fourth straight win, and Trevor Zegras also had three points as the Flyers cruised past the Devils. In net, Justus Annunen delivered a 43-save shutout for the Predators against the Ducks. The playoff picture continues to take shape with the Stars set to face the Wild in the Western Conference First Round, while the Golden Knights edged the Canucks to move into a tie for first in the Pacific!
