It's preseason, the football's on pause (well the proper stuff we mean), but there's never a shortage of things worth talking about at Beans!.

At Give 'em Beans!, we've always believed the fanzine is about more than just what's happening on the pitch - it's about the town, the people, the culture and the stories that make Barrow what it is.

So for this special episode of Spillin' the Beans!, we did something a little different.

Jonny sat down with Barrovian artist John Duffin - a man whose paintings of the town have found their way into the hearts and homes of Barrovians across the world, paintings that come back to the streets, the docks and the soul of the place he grew up in.

So tune in to hear them chat about his childhood in Barrow, his years working in the shipyard, his move to London to pursue his art and what his relationship with the town looks like today - plus his recent exhibition at the ⁠Dock Museum - Look North ⁠

Steve and Dave join Jonny in facing the final curtain with brief reflections on the meek surrender to Cambridge (on the pitch at least), embrace the grim inevitability of the Newport game and make the initial cuts for the autopsy of the twitching corpse that has been the 25/26 season.

After the Lord Mayor’s show against Oldham, The Soccer put out a Mrs Brown’s Boys performance against Walsall. Lewis, Ronan and Dave join Jonny to pick over the bones of yet another deflating defeat and preview the trip to Cambridge. The fat lady might not have started singing but she’s opened her Vinted delivery and is on the second bottle of Echo Falls.

Bloody hell, Tuesday ey! But before we get there, there was little buzz after Barnet, so Steve, Ronan and Danny sit down to pick through what was a frustrating one, before trying to find the words to describe what on earth happened when Oldham came to town.

There's plenty of Soccerline action in this one, plus a Walsall view from One Pod Beyond ahead of what is the next biggest game of our season.

Joining Jonny on a lesser spotted Friday evening are Fraser and Steve before they don the eye masks and earplugs for some much needed beauty sleep ahead of an early start travelling down to Barnet (a) on Saturday morning.

We'll preview that match with some help from a rather jolly James from Barnet having reflected on an Easter double header, an excellent shut out in Milton Keynes followed up by a narrow defeat at home against Chesterfield on Easter Monday.
