Our guest Keith Kelleher was the founder of United Labor Unions (ULU) Local 880 (1983-5), then Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 880 (1985-2008) and then president (2008-2017) of SEIU Healthcare Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Kansas (HCIIMK). Once the smallest local union, it is now the largest local union in Chicago, Cook County, the state of Illinois, and the Midwest, as well as the 7th largest local of the 2 million member Service Employees International Union. Keith has also served as an International Vice President of SEIU. In 2009, after being appointed to the Foreign Service, Hoh resigned his post in Afghanistan over the Obama administration’s escalation of the Afghan War. He is now an analyst and commentator on foreign and military policy issues as a senior fellow with the Eisenhower Media Network. He serves on the advisory boards of many peace organizations, including Veterans For Peace and World BEYOND War, and is an associate member of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity.
