Originally produced in 1971 and updated in 1995, the NASB has been widely embraced and trusted as a literal English translation. Now, the NASB 2020 improves accuracy where possible, modernizes language, and improves readability. These refinements maintain faithful accuracy to the original texts and provide a clear understanding of God’s word to those who prefer more modern English standards.

The books of the Bible were written at different times by different authors over a period of approximately 1,500 years from around 1400 BC through 90 AD. The Old Testament was written in Biblical Hebrew, excluding the books written during "the Chaldean captivity" such as Daniel and Ezra which were written in "Biblical Aramaic" during the "Chaldean captivity". Many of the books of the Old Testament bear the names of the prophets who authored them.

The Book of Hebrews is an inspirational letter to Christians, exalting God and showing Jesus' role as mediator between God and humanity. It includes such famous passages as Hebrews 11, a powerful message on faith throughout the ages. This epistle exhorts Christians to persevere in the face of persecution and not revert to their old ways despite of it.
