Raised in Port Austin on Michigan’s Lake Huron shoreline, she has a soft spot for close-knit communities, local secrets, and settings where trouble is never far from Main Street.
 She now lives near Saginaw Bay with her husband, their two young adult children, two giant Bernese Mountain Dogs who are convinced they are lap dogs, and three cats who rule the household with velvet paws and questionable motives. When Alyssa is not writing, she is usually baking, making art, or being supervised by pets who seem just a little too interested in suspicious behavior.
