Byron Loflin is a seasoned corporate governance expert, leadership adviser, and co-author of CEO Ready: What You Need to Know to Earn the Job and Keep the Job (Harvard Business Review Press, 2025). Loflin serves as Global Head of Board Advisory at Nasdaq, where he leads board assessments and governance training for Nasdaq Governance Solutions, helping boards and executive teams improve performance, accountability, and strategic alignment. He is the founder and former CEO of the Center for Board Excellence (CBE), a advisory firm focused on board dynamics and performance that was acquired by Nasdaq in 2019, and he is widely recognized in the governance community for developing innovative tools and frameworks for board evaluation and director performance. A graduate of Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program and James Madison University (BA), Loflin has held leadership and director roles in both corporate and nonprofit sectors. He founded the Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and NCTech. In CEO Ready, co-written with renowned CEO coach Mark C.
