Gary Heads is a British novelist whose work has been translated into multiple languages and enjoyed international success. His Enlightened Spaniel Trilogy has appeared on bestseller lists around the world, captivating readers with its unique blend of storytelling, spirituality, and a deep connection to the natural world. Animals, especially dogs and cats, are ever-present in his writing, often guiding the heart of his narratives. Gary holds an MSc in Mindfulness and has spent much of his adult life practising and teaching meditation. His first book, Living Mindfully: Discovering Authenticity through Mindfulness and Coaching, was published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2017 and reflects his long-standing commitment to personal growth and self-awareness. In 2019, his interest in Buddhism and his love of springer spaniels inspired A Dog’s Quest to Be a Buddhist. Its success led to two further novels in the series: The Cat with One Life Left (2020) and The Stone of Truth (2021), completing what would become a beloved trilogy. Gary lives in County Durham in North East England, where he continues to write and explore themes of mindfulness, nature, and the human–animal connection.
