After 40 years in maintenance, from starting as a tradie to leading asset management across entire businesses and assisting multiple companies sustainably improve their reliability, he has seen what really drives reliability, and it is not reports, dash-boards, or meetings. It is skilled people doing the right work, the right way. That is the engine room of reliability performance. Through decades of helping sites lift their game, Gerard came to a simple realisation: nothing improves reliability faster than quality trades work backed by practical, no-nonsense maintenance leadership. That is the heartbeat of his coaching and his books, Simplifying Mining Maintenance and Only Tradies Improve Reliability. He keeps it sharp, straight-talking, and yeah, he likes to share a few laughs too. Gerard would love his latest book to positively impact 1 million tradies, helping them gain more job satisfaction, feel proud to be part of a successful team, and get their businesses to perform better. When he started in the consulting game, he also wanted to make a positive difference in the industries he worked in, but he soon realised he needed to reach a larger and broader audience to make a more significant difference.
